Thank you so much for your efforts. I have occasionally tried alternatives (trying to find one that has tabs!) but I always end up removing them and going back to metapad because its so much faster :) I have used metapad for over 8 years now and it is the best thing that ever happened to Windows notepad!! You know, it's got features that don't appear in any popular Linux-based editor. Sure would be nice if, now that it's Open Source, there were a Linux port of Metapad.
